EMSI Bursary

The 2023 Early Music Bursary was awarded to Aline Thévard, a recent graduate of UVic’s School of Music. Aline attended the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute in Toronto, where she studied with cellist Michael Unterman.

Past Recipients

Our 2022 bursary recipient Kerry Graham attended the Oberlin College Baroque Performance Institute to further her studies on the baroque bassoon.

The Early Music Society of the Islands maintains a bursary fund which helps to support early music performance and education in the community. The Society’s mandated region is Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.

Concerts and recitals, extra-curricular studies, and community education initiatives are eligible projects.

Up to $1000 is available each year. Consideration for a bursary requires the submission of the application form with an estimated budget.

If you have been approved for a bursary, submission of a post-event report form and budget form is mandatory.
