EMSI delights in bringing to its audience neglected masterpieces. On this occasion, the musicians of ¡Sacabuche! (singers, sackbuts, violins and organ) illuminate the works of Jarzębski, Mielczewski, Szarzyński and Zieleński, Polish composers who, in the seventeenth century, adopted the emerging idiom of the Italian baroque with brilliant results.
“The ensemble’s intonation was flawless, its balance excellent, and its overall sound was deliciously fullbodied and smooth.” BOSTON MUSIC INTELLIGENCER
