What is Early Music?
Early Music is music of the past brought to life through our inspiring live concert series. Repertoire ranges from 800 AD to 1800 AD – from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Our artists use period instruments and apply historical research to instrumental and vocal technique to bring us as close as possible to hearing how the music was originally performed.
Who is EMSI?
The Early Music Society of the Islands scours the world to bring the finest interpreters of Early Music to Victoria audiences. These amazing artists breathe life into the music of the past with freshness and creative passion.
