Ben Grossman, hurdy gurdy
Meet and listen to an informal talk with Ben Grossman, special guest artist with Duo Corvi and Friends.
Mr. Grossman is one of the leading proponents of the hurdy gurdy, that fascinating, complicated instrument that dates back to the Middle Ages. His performances have ranged from many years as a member of the renowned early music ensemble, the Toronto Consort, to more than 100 CDs, soundtracks for television and film, composition and sound design for theatre and dance. His interests extend to experimental music, spontaneous composition and improvisation, topics he explored in a TED talk in 2011.
Learn more about the unique hurdy gurdy, its history and how an ancient instrument has evolved to fit into the world of experimental modern music.
